The site of the basilicas was excavated by the Italian archaeologist L. Laurenzi in 1932. In 1992 the walls of the basilicas were consolidaled under the supervision of the architect K. Charitonides. The mosaic floors are regularly restored by the Archaeological service, and particularly during the summer of 1995.
