An awe inspiring archaeological site, well worth a visit. We travelled from Kos Town by the road Train and enjoyed an hour at the site. Guide book was 8 euros which I thought was expensive but there are information boards to tell you the history of Asklepion. The day we were there black clouds and thunder were all around us in the hills and it was very atmospheric, but luckily no rain.

Even if you dont visit any of th other ancient sites in Kos, this is a must. all those steps are well worth the climb, even when temperatures are extreme.I have MS and made it. DO IT

Asklepieion was founded by the students of Hippocrates. The most rich people from Mediterranean used to visit this place in order to be healed and to see and being seen. In fact it is a huge complex of spa that was very modern for it's era. People were healed while they were sleeping. They used modern techniques that we use today. What was speciall for this, not just rich people could go there. Everybody who came there had to sacrifice something for god, even if it was something small and cheap. It's very good when you have a guide that'll tell you lot of things about this place. I think it would be boring without guide.

Fab place, well worth the visit & great for photos! There's a little stall there too that sells gorgeous juices to cool u down.
