KOS BEACHES THERMA

THERMA
Therma is located after Psalidi at a distance of about 10 km from the center of Kos town towards the southeast direction to Agios Fokas. Therma means hot in Greek and is named because of a spring with hot water coming from the mountain. Therma were discovered in 1934 by Italian archaeologist Laourentsi. This beach attracts a great number of tourists with its hot waters.

The beach is covered with small dark stones and the exact location with the spring water is surrounded with big stones. Water is quite shallow and you can sit there and enjoy the day. What is more there are leaking bubbles from the ground, it is kind of a natural whirlpool.

Therma is ideal for treating rheumatic diseases, arthritis and gynecological problems since the hot springs water contains elements such as Potassium, Sodium, Calcium, Magnesium, Sulfur and Chlorine.
